Solution Feature
  • To provide a legged robot for patrol and inspection to multiple floors. To perform both manual and autonomous task such as climbing stairs, walking uneven roads, country park; and then self-going and back in indoor or outdoor environments by means of indoor tracking or positioning.
  • This autonomous patrolling robotic system is a safety predictive monitoring system. By integrating the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) strategies and the capability of the Artificial Industrial Internet of Things (AioT), machine health condition monitoring and plant room safety can be evaluated autonomously and remotely.
  • Machines running with faults would generate abnormal signatures, on thermal image, acoustic and vibration. This Robodog as an autonomous inspector, it detects and collects data about overheating on machines and on power supply system; and identify thermal anomalies on piping system leakage by means of indoor tracking or positioning.
  • This AioT system is an intelligence platform to collect, store and perform correlation analysis and predictive analytics to identify abnormalities and root-cause. When abnormalities are detected, the system shall generate and submit alert to Building Management System (BMS) and give actionable maintenance advice.
  • This system equips with edge-computing capability of multi-spectral imaging that combines visual and thermal images/video to perform predictive analytics on fire detection, water leakage detection, smoke detection and human fall detection.
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • The robotic patrolling system will be designed, developed, constructed, tested and commissioned with appropriate types of operation and battery-driven chassis with processing units for obstacle avoidance, navigation and indoor positioning.
  • This robotic patrolling system monitor abnormal temperature, if any, in the plant room. by means of hot and cold spots tracking.
  • Enable edge-computing multi-spectral video analytics at unmanned plant room for emergency detection, eg. fire detection, water leakage detection, smoke detection and human fall detection.
  • Perform artificial intelligence analytics on edge computed data and giving insights and actionable advice.
  • Early warning will be flagged-up and health assessment of machine components (rotor, motor, impeller, gear etc.) will be provided to facilitate preventive maintenance and the maintenance resource can be optimized.
