Scanned Beam Circular Polarized Antenna Array
(REF : S-1335)
|
Trial Project |
|
Solution Feature |
- The total gain of the mentioned antenna can achieve more than 5dBi, which provides better range coverage.
- The mentioned antenna is circularly polarized, giving a higher chance of communication with the end nodes in random orientation as it transmits and receives on all electromagnetic planes.
- The radiation beam of the mentioned antenna is scannable for covering the full 360 degrees horizontally in time division.
- The radiation beam is designed to tilt down to provide better air-to-ground communications.
- The enclosure is fully sealed for IP67 standard and made of ABS material with anti-UV coating, which can maintain better performance in outdoor applications.
|
Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- First, the designed antenna will be tested in the RF anechoic chamber to see if it performs as expected and meets the design specification.
- Then, to evaluate the performance in the reality of the proposed design, we can construct a simulation scenario to emulate the operation. We can find a tall building to realize it.
- By putting the gateway with the antenna on the roof and placing some of the end nodes simultaneously a distance away and randomly around the building on the ground. The proposed solution should observe a better end-node discovery rate than a normal one.
- Finally, the antenna can be mounted to the helicopter for a field test. The antenna should discover more end-node during the test than a normal one.
