Analyzing Health Conditions of Critical Lift/Escalator Components with the Use of AI-Assisted Image Analytics

I&T Solution Analyzing Health Conditions of Critical Lift/Escalator Components with the Use of AI-Assisted Image Analytics
(REF : S-1365)
Trial Project
Solution Feature
  • Development of artificial intelligence engine to conduct comprehensive review of photos of key components of lifts/escalators
  • On-site photos collected from routine maintenance will be classified and defect detected by an artificial intelligence engine, and the photos will be provided by EMSD
  • Use data augmentation, transfer learning, synthetic data, active/semi-supervised learning and other techniques for model training
  • Effectively classify 12 designated elevator parts, and carry out in-depth defect inspection on 2 of the designated parts; in order to point out the detailed problems of each part
  • The artificial intelligence module can solve the photo data of different angles, lighting conditions, camera quality and photography skills; no matter whether the characteristics are good or bad, they must be effectively identified and analyzed
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • The trained artificial intelligence model can distinguish at least 12 specified parts and effectively classify them into the preset database
  • The trained artificial intelligence model is used for in-depth analysis of two selected components, namely suspension cables and brakes
  • The artificial intelligence model will be fully scalable and adaptable, allowing users to add new data through the API for continuous training and analysis of the model
  • Establish several artificial intelligence models (including object classification model, object detection model, defect detection model)
  • Development of generalized A.I. models for different lift components to detect potential faults so as to achieve predictive maintenance
