Using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to monitor settlement at the District Cooling System pipes in Kai Tak District

I&T Solution Using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to monitor settlement at the District Cooling System pipes in Kai Tak District
(REF : S-1457)
Trial Project
Solution Feature
  • Monitoring system consists of approximately 24 GNSS antennas and receivers
  • Steel stands for a stable and rigid connections between GNSS antennas and pipes
  • 1Hz real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning technology
  • InSAR-assisted settlement monitoring for the whole Kai Tak DCS district
  • Real-time alerting to the project managers
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • Real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning technology for the pipe settlement monitoring in the city canyon environment
  • InSAR ground settlement monitoring for the area of high buildings
  • A well-performed positioning algorithm, particularly in the city canyon environment in which the multipath effects is the major errors for high-precise positioning
  • An AI-based detection algorithm for the abnormal settlement based on the positioning time series
  • A web-based alert system, which provides real-time visualization dashboard, and broadcasts timely warning message to the project managers
