Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • The project will begin by developing a low-cost FBG interrogation system aims at replacing the existing one used by previous project.
  • As for the replacement of new interrogation system to the trial lifts, the sensor network currently installed will be refined, and some of the sensors with duplicate wavelength are need to be replaced or removed
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms will be applied to study the data collected from different components of the lifts so as to devise a predictive maintenance scheme for these components
  • Web-based graphical user interface (GUI) showing the real time operation condition of the lifts and theirs associated components based on the statistical findings from the collected data will be developed at the final stage of the project.
  • The specification of the new interrogation system is specifically designed with the number of sensor unit which can fulfill for condition monitoring application of one unit of lift or escalator.
