| Summary and Challenges |
The project aims to supply and install a remote monitoring system for instantaneous temperature tracking and monitoring in a medical cold store through IoT network and cloud services. The project shall offer wireless sensors and make use of wireless technologies and cloud services to establish a remote temperature monitoring system for a medical cold store in Tuen Mun Hospital. The solution shall overcome the shielding effect of metallic enclosures and provide long battery life wireless sensors in a low temperature environment. The system shall monitor and report instantaneous temperature data in the medical cold store 24/7, and all the temperature data shall be recorded and kept. It should automatically send alarms – via SMS, email and WhatsApp – in case of any temperature excursion between 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
