Building Information Modelling towards Intelligent Demand Control for HVAC System

I&T Wish Building Information Modelling towards Intelligent Demand Control for HVAC System
(REF : W-0165)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) can be applied together with the BIM models in thermal comfort analysis for energy saving. Machine learning will be then adopted to mimic a complex correlation between input variables and the resultant comfort level from CFD. A control algorithm will be formulated to achieve an intelligent control of air-conditioning system, e.g. supply air temperature reset, with the balance of human comfort. IoT devices, e.g. thermal cameras, CO2 sensors and humidity sensors, will installed on site to verify the performance for feedback loop control.
Expected Outcome E&M systems are designed for the peak condition and they always operate at part load condition. To achieve optimal energy consumption, demand control based on the 3D thermal and IAQ comfort analysis
Expected Trial Duration 12 months
