Summary and Challenges FEHD would like to develop a prototype of solar-powered compacting refuse bin for household waste collection. This technology increases the capacity of the compacting bin and discourages unscrupulous dumping resulting from overloaded refuse bin. The solar-powered compacting refuse refuse bin should be equipped by an effective waste compaction and solar energy system with a sensor-operated inlet. The bin should be able to work under the drastic environmental condition with reasonable running and maintenance cost.
