Summary and Challenges The developed system shall be able to accurately measure the clear height of a bridge above the sea and report the measurements to the backend server. Height measuring devices (such as microwave sensors) shall periodically transmit the measured data to the back office by means of IoT technology for recording. The system shall generate measurement report regularly. The height measuring devices may be installed at height and shall be designed to withstand harsh environment including high temperature, storm wind, rainstorm, sea water corrosion, etc.
Expected Outcome This project aims to develop an IoT-based system for remote measurement and reporting of bridge clear height above sea level at different times and conditions for enhancing maritime traffic safety.
