Project Summary and Challenges
  1. The project aims to apply video analytic technology, IoT and big data analysis to enhance the customers’ shopping experience, facilitate the operational efficiency of E&M installations and collect valuable information for new development / renovation of public markets.
  2. Real-time video analytic technology recognition with the features of consumer profiles (e.g. age / gender population), consumer flow pattern, shopping behaviour and head count would be adopted.
  3. Wireless equipment would be selected as much as possible to reduce the required manpower resources and installation time so as to minimize the disturbance to the normal operation of the market.
Expected Outcome
  1. Real-time population density at the market can be displayed on a display unit to facilitate occupancy flow.
  2. Data about consumers' shopping practices/modes would be analysed for the layout planning of stalls and passages in public markets in the future renovation or new development.
  3. Set point of the A/C equipment and fresh air demand control would then be adjusted accordingly based on the real-time monitoring or predicted situation to maintain the indoor environment in a desired level while reducing energy wastage.
