Summary and Challenges By adopting advanced technologies like programmable drones, Real Time Kinematics (RTK) Position System, photogrammetry, AI analytics with deep learning and pattern recognition, this project aims to conduct automated drone inspection of external condition of high-rise buildings and to develop an AI-based image analytic programme for intelligent identification of building defect(s) in an accurate, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Expected Outcome With the assistance of drones and AI technology, it is expected the external condition of high-rise buildings can be more effectively inspected and accurately visualized which could assist prompt maintenance actions to reduce risk of building failure and enhance public safety.
Expected Trial Duration 24 months
