Work-at-Height Safety Monitoring

I&T Wish Work-at-Height Safety Monitoring
(REF : W-0273)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges "Fall of person from height" is one of the major sources of serious and fatal industrial accidents in the construction industry. We are searching for innovative I&T solution which could help for ensuring the safety of work-at-height activities. The solution shall monitor and identify workers who are working at height and their safety harness are securely attached to the independent lifeline (vertical or horizontal) in construction site.
Expected Outcome
  1. Solution is preferred to adopt LPWAN technologies (i.e. LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT) in the sensing devices.
  2. The sensing devices in this solution shall be designed to integrate with the safety harness commonly available in the market.
  3. The solution shall support defining work-at-height hazardous zone in a construction site. i.e. working height higher than certain distance above ground or floor levels.
  4. The solution shall support the management of safety harness stock-taking. (with unique registration number/ ID)
  5. The solution support the registration and recording of independent lifeline and safety harness to individual workers.
  6. The solution support monitoring independent lifeline and safety harness connection status. When workers have entered the predefined hazardous zone (item 1), safety harness shall be attached to the available independent lifeline. The system shall record the historical data such as time steps and the number of violation of safety measures related to individual safety harness users and support the corresponding report generation.
  7. The system shall identify which safety harness is not properly attached to independent lifeline as required and provide alert messages in the system platform.
Expected Trial Duration 9-month duration
