Summary and Challenges Surfaces inside lift cabin like button panels, handrails and handle are frequently touched by members of the public, and potentially provide a means for virus spreading. This project aims to study the effectiveness of Far-UVC light (222nm) and develop an active disinfection system inside lift cabin using Far-UVC light which can disinfect the potential contaminated surfaces safely even passengers are in the cabin in order to minimize the contact and transmission of viruses at all time.
Expected Outcome
  • Study and laboratory test to identify the performance and disinfection effect of Far-UVC light on indicative micro-organisms /pathogens.
  • Design and development of Far-UVC light disinfection system for application inside lift cabin with high safety level in operation.
  • Measurement & verification and report submission about the performance of Far-UVC light disinfection system in field trial.
