Summary and Challenges There are 12 passengers and 1 cargo lift at 7-storey EMSD HQs Building. In order to optimize the lift usage patterns at different locations and different terminal floors, we target to deploy an innovative technology approach using EMSD HQs Building as testing ground, to explore a generic approach for resolving the lift traffic condition and optimizing lift usage pattern to suit different passenger demand rates at up-peak and down-peak periods intelligently to suit for different building activities and events.
Expected Outcome 1. Design and install non-intrusive lift traffic platform for monitoring 12 passenger lift and 1 cargo lift, and recommending optimized lift usage pattern.
2. Arrange continuous monitoring and data collection of passenger demand flow at different terminal floors and locations during the project period.
3. Develop graphic user interface to plan, monitor and optimize the use of different lifts in different up-peak and down-peak period.
4. Liaise with lift maintenance contractor on site implementation and testing work
