Summary and Challenges

The project objective is to design and develop a mobile app for staff to check on parking spaces and car park management and the collection of occupancy status data.

The project needs to address several challenges, including selecting suitable vehicle sensors, developing analytic software, transmitting occupancy data, and data storage and management.

The smart system would not only facilitate better car park management, but also understand the occupancy pattern, which would be of help in formulating parking policy in future.
