Trial Project
Summary and Challenges

As the growth of the number of vehicles is faster than that of parking spaces in Hong Kong, there is a need for more car parking spaces, or more efficient use of parking spaces.

The purpose of this trial project is to design, build and test a new automated parking system, and to decide whether it is applicable to Hong Kong. A trial of the Puzzle Parking System will be conducted providing a total of 13 parking spaces.

Puzzle Parking is a fully automated system featuring combination pallets that enable horizontal and vertical movement of parking spots just like a puzzle to park and retrieve cars. A fully automatic independent system, it can be easily configured and customised to any premises.

Results of the trial would be of help to government bureaus and departments on whether to introduce automated parking as a way to provide more parking spaces for members of the general public.

Expected Outcome The purpose of this trial project is to design, build and test the new system, then determine whether the automated parking system is applicable in Hong Kong.
Expected Trial Duration 9-month
