Summary and Challenges
  • During construction period, the field equipment will not be tested and commissioned due to long-length cable connection where the works are still under construction. As a result, most of field equipment will be arranged for test and commissioning at very late stage of construction period, which is considered as undesirable.
Expected Outcome
  • Instead of using hardwired connection for testing and commissioning, wireless connection is used as interim measure to facilitate early installation, testing and commissioning in order to minimize the risk of unsuccessful connection to field equipment.
  • Benefits :
    • Allow early Test and Commissioning of Field Equipment
    • Facilitate other construction contractors to perform the substantial works without any major interruption to testing of Field equipment, resulting in allowing more time for construction contractors to complete more remaining works
