Summary and Challenges Elderly often forget where they have kept their own belongings due to age-related memory loss. In addition, factors such as mobility difficulties and living alone due to old age or illness can increase the difficulty for them to find their belongings, and may also pose potential dangers.
Expected Outcome We aim to develop a system to assist elderly in locating their belongings by using RFID technology.
The system consists of three main components:
  1. RFID tag / Stickers
  2. RFID reader
    1. standard handheld modular type - Scan and search the object indoor
    2. Door frame type - When the user goes out, if the reader detects that the user has not brought all the items in the "pre-set item list", it will make relevant voice prompts.
  3. Mobile application for tag management
    1. Mobile application based, without the need of server
    2. Support photo search function
    3. Support various brand of RFID reader
    4. Support storage of at least 100 tags info
    5. Support remote tagging by wireless network
    6. Support Voice recognition for input
    7. Support Text-to-Speech for alert
