Summary and Challenges
  • The overall idea of this project is to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize the control of air handling unit (AHU) of air-conditioning (AC) system in Macau Ferry Terminal (MFT) to achieve energy saving. IoT sensor data, weather data, passenger flow information and ferry schedule would be used for model training with the aim to reduce energy consumption and provide a more comfortable experience of journey for the passengers. The developed AI model shall maximize the cooling efficiency based on the latest situation and actual demand.
Expected Outcome
  • To enhance the air handling unit (AHU) with control digitization
  • To install IoT sensors for environmental data collection
  • To develop AI model for optimizing and automating the control of air handling unit in order to achieve energy saving
