(REF : W-0519)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
  1. Piloting a Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) with First Person View (FPV) goggles provides a good flying view from SUA but blocks the pilot see the front and limits the pilot’s situation awareness in hazardous or dangerous environment which threatens the safety of the pilot and can cause series property damage or injuries to nearby personnel.
  2. SUA with first person Augmented Reality (AR) glasses view can see through without limiting situation awareness like common FPV goggles.
  3. Remote Controlled SUA for easy maneuverability in enclosed or tight areas and ease of transport.
  4. In responding to accidents, including large-scale traffic accidents and mountain search and rescue, SUA can be used to conduct situation appraisal at the accident scene from an aerial perspective, minimizing the risk of injury to rescuers while carrying out their duties.
  5. SUA system supports streaming to a co-pilot (Observer) tablet for coordination and support.
  6. SUA system supports streaming to cloud servers for AI analysis of images.
Expected Outcome
  • Develop a lightweight and intuitive AR glasses, to remote control the Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) with drone’s view displayed in an AR glasses, with cloud streaming capabilities for observers and AI image analysis.
Expected Trial Duration 12-month
