In a compact city like Hong Kong, the vertical gardening system facilitates the growth of plants, provides an elegant greenery to users and brings the concrete jungle alive.
Urban afforestation has always been a challenge for modern architecture. Monitoring various parameters such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and light intensity is important for obtaining real-time information on plant health which largely affects the effectiveness of plant growth.
The plant monitoring system is connected to GWIN network via a low power and private LoRa (Long Range) network. This connectivity enables the system to monitor the health status of plants. By collecting the information, the system can accurately supply the necessary amount of light and water to each plant.
| Problem Addressed | The plant monitoring system, "IoT (Internet of Thing) Vertical Gardening" solution merges advanced technology into plant cultivation, to enhance the quality and efficiency of urban afforestation. |
