In the combat against COVID-19, healthcare facilities were in urgent need of negative-pressure special treatment areas for patients. To meet the huge demand for negative-pressure wards in hospitals and community treatment facilities within a short timeframe, the IoT-enabled Mobile Modular HEPA Unit (MMHU) was specifically designed. It is a mobile air purification unit equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter.
| Problem Addressed | The MMHU addresses the pressing and huge need for air filtration in healthcare settings. It can filter 99.97% of fine suspended particulates measuring 0.3 microns. Compared with general household air purifiers, it offers a filtration rate ten times higher, providing a medical-grade filtration efficiency. This unit can quickly convert a general ward into a negative-pressure ward or serve as a recirculating HEPA air cleaner in any indoor settings such as communities, hospitals and clinics. It can operate in different modes, such as circulation mode for air filtration of general wards and exhaust mode for converting general wards into "Tier-2 isolation wards". |

| Innovation | The MMHU is equipped with either H13 HEPA filter or H14 HEPA filter, tested and certified to capture 99.97% of fine suspended particulates measuring 0.3 microns. The unit consists of a high-performance EC fan with a high-efficient IE4 motor producing a peak rated airflow up to 500 L/s. It is also designed for a long-lasting performance with 60,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. |
