Efficiently illuminated workplaces not only enhances productivity but is also good for the environment with reduced energy consumption.
With the adoption of the new nano optical reflectors (NOR), nano-size pigment coated to the lighting reflector, in lighting fixtures, it improves diffuse reflectance, lighting level and uniformity as well as maintaining balanced direct reflectance and diffuse reflectance.
This allows much room for reduction of lighting fixtures and hence, energy consumption while maintaining satisfactory illuminating quality, and adopting an environmentally friendly approach in the production process.
| Problem Addressed | Conventional lighting reflector is generally made of aluminum, mirror-like surface, which provides high specular reflection and low diffuse reflection. However, this feature can cause uneven light intensity and lower the efficiency of reflection and illumination of office lighting fixtures. Besides, the production of this kind of mirror-like metallic finish inside lighting reflectors generates much wastewater that needs to be treated by expensive facilities before being discharged. |

| Innovation | The new NOR on trial is coated with nano-oxide, nano-size pigment, to give wide angle of reflection that provides better diffuse reflection so as to achieve energy saving and improve the lighting quality. Additionally, the nano-oxide coating costs less than the traditional aluminum lighting reflector as it can be sprayed on or dip-coated at rather low temperature and atmospheric pressure without harming the environment. |
