Development of LoRaWAN Gateway-to-Gateway Communication for Extension of LoRa Coverage

I&T Solution Development of LoRaWAN Gateway-to-Gateway Communication for Extension of LoRa Coverage
(REF : S-0819)
Trial Project
Solution Feature
  • LoRa WAN compatible Repeater Node that supports proprietary LoRa Mesh communication protocol
  • LoRaMesh Repeater Node is compatible with standard LoRaWAN End Devices (sensors)
  • LoRaMesh Repeater Node supports both uplink and downlink communication with EMSD's LoRaWAN Gateways
  • LoRaMesh Repeater Node communication range to LoRaWAN Gateway is up to 5 km in open area
  • The solution extends the traditional LoRaWAN architecture from a star-type to a mesh topology which enables a multi-hop transmission and enhance radio coverage to areas without Internet connection
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • Use of LoRaWAN protocol and develop a proprietary LoRaMesh protocol to allow long distance wireless communication between gateways and end devices
  • The design of proprietary Repeater Nodes should work without the use of mobile network
  • To carried out on-site trial and compile a project report
