  • Development of a non-intrusive low-cost IoT sensor which will be installed on the lift car for vibrational data recording and detection
  • Development of an IoT analytical platform that applies Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methodology to perform anomaly detection
  • Development of a smart-contract based permissioned blockchain, which shall be appended in the backend of the “Digital Logbook System”, for the sake of storing analytical data reports generated by the IoT Platform
  • Apply Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to build up appropriate AI engines & models for anomaly detection such that four status shall be detected, including 1) run/stop status; 2) door open/close status; 3) abnormal speed/vibration; 4) abnormal door operation
  • To ensure efficient overview of reports generated by IoT Platform, report content will be displayed in dashboard. By referencing both information, corresponding stakeholders could keep close track of the anticipated fault and abnormal symptoms of lift car
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • IoT analytics platform that applies machine learning and AI to analyze the patterns of operational data. AI allows the system to learn which signals are indicative of the states of a lift
  • Analytical results of the sensor will be passed to blockchain so that data is assessed by permissioned and trusted parties only
  • The IoT Platform should be developed as an open-sourced platform so that data can be collected from different registered sensors made by different suppliers
  • Faults can be identified pre-emptively to enable repair well before failure, eliminating the chance of incidents
  • Dashboard enables efficient overview and easy understanding of reports generated by the IoT Platform
