Solution Feature |
- A contactless (i.e. non-wearable) detection using ultra-wide-band (UWB) sensor to monitor the vital signs of an inmate in single cell.
- The system runs 24/7 and detects the real-time vital sign of an inmate in cell , including presence status, heart rate and breathing rate.
- The system functions even when the inmate is covered by a thin blanket.
- The system allows officers to remotely monitor the vital signs of inmates at the system workstation.
- Alarms will be triggered when abnormalities in an inmate’s vital sign (which could be defined by the correctional institution) are detected.
|
Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- A complete solution design includes vital sign detection sensors, workstations, dashboard and other necessary equipment to deliver a real-time alarm mechanism to the correctional officers.
- An additional dimension of observations (vitals), on top of the traditional surveillance cameras set-up, allows officers an informed decision on whether the inmate inside the cell requires immediate attention or action.
- Real-time detection and alert of undesirable range of vitals (heart rate and/or breathing rate) exhibited by the inmates.
- Real-time detection of occupancy and/or level of movement exhibited by the inmates.
- Information in relation to the condition of inmates inside cells to be displayed at panels near officers for instant remote monitoring.
