| Solution Feature |
- Using contact sensing mat or pressure sensing mat under the bed sheet or the mattress to early detecting patient intention of leaving bed.
- Sensing mat will use wireless technology to connect to a hub for the system to collect data
- If a patient triggers the bed exiting alarm, a smart robot will move to the patient’s bedside and remind the patient to stay in bed verbally.
- The alarm can only be switched off in person by care staff to ensure the patient situation is being taken care of.

| Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- One bed will be installed with the sensing mat and test if the alarm will trigger when the patient is trying to leave the bed.
- When the alarm is triggered, the smart robot should move to the bed and remind the patient not to leave the bed.
- Without resetting the alarm in person, the robot should stay next to the bedside and wait for the nurse to come.
- Test of different scenarios and different conditions, sensitivity of sensors under different weather and working conditions.
