Solution Feature |
- Potential overturn conditions monitoring: motion and pressure sensor will be used to estimate the pose of dump truck and the land slopping.
- Easy installation: by magnetic attachment dump box with battery operated.
- Wireless communication: allows driver in driver’s cabin, safety officer and foreman in site office to receive alert without needing to attach wire from vehicle to alert system. LoRa is used, hence enabling long distance communication and does not require extra installation of electronic communication devices.
- Alert system: provide obvious alert to make sure potential overturning risks are known and parties involved can act accordingly. Visual, strobe light, and audio, siren, alarms are chosen, they can be installed at the side of vehicle and in the site office.

Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- Field test by real truck to capture data when truck perform dump box rising to distinguish the pose estimation algorithm accuracy. It is useful to improve the accuracy of deterministic the overturning risks, and alarm to the driver and site office.
- Field test by real truck to log the real data when moving to the uneven ground condition. To verify the accuracy of the sloping ground measurement by logged data. It is useful to improve the accuracy of deterministic the overturning risks, and alarm to the driver and site office.
- LoRa protocol and connectivity performance for 5km in open space and site environment. It is important to avoid device transmission loss in site environment.
- Field test by real truck daily operation to measure the power consumption condition, which will used to enable weekly or monthly operation solution.
