Using AI Recognition for Equipment Gauge Reading
(REF: S-1672) |
Trial Project |
|
Solution Feature |
- To build a computer vision AI model to accurately distinguish the type of equipment gauge from a picture, and use different approaches to handle different types of equipment.
- To run the computer vision model on the AI platform to do image calibration and read equipment gauges.
- To provide a mobile application which the technician can use the application to take a picture of the meter, the mobile application can allow the users to upload the image to the cloud platform. Cloud platform returns the type and reading result to the application.
- To create a database that stores basic information about the equipment gauges, including what is being measured, gauge ranges, normal value ranges, and collate gauge readings according to different gauge types and gauge IDs
- To create an intelligent monitoring and notification system that triggers a warning message to alert the user in the form of a notification when there is an abnormal gauge reading.
|
Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- To develop a mobile application that can use the camera of portable devices to take pictures, upload them to a cloud server, and identify the type of meter and the number of readings.
- To establish an information database for equipment meters to record the meter readings taken each time into the database, so that users can easily access the historical meter readings.
- To develop the intelligent monitoring and notification system, when the meter reading is out of the normal range, the server will send an alarm message to the application to remind the user.
- To generate reports from the information database, report the abnormal condition of equipment to the administers for information.
