Solution Feature |
- Accurate lab tests of the EC fan with spiral guide vane and a normal EC fan are performed.
- The lab test rig will be designed according to ASHRAE Standard.
- Detailed CFS simulation studies are completed based on the lab test results so that the energy and other performance indicators of the two different fans are obtained.

Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- Lab tests of at least two EC fans, one with spiral guide vane and one with normal guide vane, should be carried out first at various speeds.
- Based on the lab test results, CFD simulation software should be used to find the performance of the two different fans when they are installed in an air-conditioning system, say an air supply system.
- The performance of the EC fan with spiral guided vane and the comparison with a normal EC fan can thus found from the lab tests and simulations in terms of energy efficiency, power consumption, pressure head, flowrate, noise level, and so on.
