Solution Feature

The success of a commercial moulding processes relies heavily on the effectiveness of the mould’s cooling system.
Cooling can affect product quality and productivity, and is therefore a costly challenge for the manufacturing industry.
Traditional, straight cooling channels result in uneven temperature distribution and long moulding cycles. This can result in warpage and shrinkage of the moulded part.

Trial Application and Expected Outcome

This new method combines the benefits of Diffusion Bonding, 3D Metal Printing and Thermal Brazing and Coating to reduce cooling times and costs.
It combines existing technologies in a new way to produce an innovative solution to reduce production cycle time around 20% and thus the cost.
