- Collect, study and analyze the videos/images of past escalator data.
- Analyze the correlations of various human factors and develop AI-based system that predicts the probability of re-occurrence of similar matter.
- The detection scope may include passengers with special needs (e.g. unaccompanied minors, senior citizens, reduced mobility, visual impairment, baby strollers, pets, etc.)
- The system should have mechanism to protect the privacy of passengers.
- The system should have mechanism to trigger notifications to staff and/or public announcement system to draw their attention.

Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- The project consists of multiple phases which includes data collection, AI model training, preparation of implementation strategy and pilot run.
- Apart from the data generated by normal passenger, we will send testers to perform specific actions to enrich the data.
- The implementation phase includes pilot run of the system.
- We will fine-tune the AI model during the pilot run to optimize the detection thresholds which further improve the accuracy of the system.
