Foreign Object Detection System used in Deepfog Environment for Peak Tramway System
(REF: S-1991) |
| Trial Project |
|
| Solution Feature |
- On-vehicle 3D ranging sensor (forward-facing) monitors the tram corridor in fog.
- Edge AI detects foreign objects, estimates distance, and tracks approach.
- Real-time graded alerts (Caution / Slow / Stop) with distance readout to the operator.
- Local processing & logging only (no cloud).
- Single-vehicle trial installation; minimal driver interface.
|
| Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- Install one forward LiDAR sensor and edge compute on a single tram.
- Off-hours Track Tests, Run passes at service speed in foggy/low-visibility conditions.
- Operate during normal service with alerts muted. One controlled configuration update if needed.
- Enable simple dash indicator (screen overlay). Capture alert-to-response timing. Verify latency and detection bands.
- Compile validated dataset. Provide final report with acceptance results enabling procurement and scale with minimal changes.
