Solution Feature
  • Image detection technology nowadays can solve varies accident detection problem. However, this also raises privacy issue
  • The proposed solution fulfils detection requirement without the issue privacy by applying Lidar and thermal camera fusion technology
  • Lidar and Thermal Camera has different advantage and disadvantage,
  • Lidar is able to detect object in long distance (up to 100m) in 360 degrees while thermal image provides higher level of details
  • The proposed solution is fuse 2 sensor so that Lidar detects the long range person and tracks every person inside the concourse.
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • The proposed solution will be deployed in concourse of MTR station
  • When system detects the event of elderly, passengers carrying bulky objects,
  • with condition&drunk and with accessible needs and workers who deliver goods to F&B outlets intending to use escalator,
  • system would inform MTR station staff immediately to provide timely assistance
