Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • We propose to install the silver ion antiviral air filters in a number of air handling units in an EMSD building.
  • Air sampling and surface microbial activity level measurement can be conducted for every month on the existing air filter and the silver ion antiviral air filters for comparative analysis.
  • Antiviral efficacy test of the air filter using human coronavirus can be conducted after they are loaded with dust. This is to evaluate the loss of antiviral performance of the filter, if any, with particle loading.
  • Filtration efficiency and pressure drop data will also be measured monthly to analyse the general air filter performance of the silver ion antiviral air filters.
  • Deliverables: An antiviral air filter with detailed report of on-site performance data, both on general filtration performance and on antiviral and antibacterial performance.
