An Atomized Ozonated Water Sanitizing Robot controlled and managed by A Smart Air Sterilizing Platform

I&T Solution An Atomized Ozonated Water Sanitizing Robot controlled and managed by A Smart Air Sterilizing Platform
(REF : S-0402)
Trial Project
Solution Feature
  • The objective of this project is to develop an AOW Sanitizing Robot which is under the control of a smart platform to monitor indoor air quality (IAQ), clean and sterilize air for effectively inactivating/killing viruses in air, and purifying air for achieving green, safe, and healthy places.
  • The proposed product consists of a cloud-enable system and an AGV-enabled air sterilizing system. It is a comprehensive system with an integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices/sensors, cloud-computing devices, automated guided vehicle (AGV) robots, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies for data analytics.
  • The cloud-enabled system in this project is highly supported by Dr. H.H. Cheung, who is a Lecturer of IMSE Department at HKU. A cloud-enable system consists of computer applications that control IoT sensors to periodically capture IAQ and bacterial level and store the data into a database for analytics.
  • A machine learning algorithm would be developed to analyse the data captured for predicting air quality. Once the air quality is not accepted, the system automatically controls the robot to automatically sterilize air/surface with minimum human involvement.
  • The patented Atomized Ozonated Water(AOW®), combined ozone with fine water droplets in mist-form by ultrasound atomizer, actively oxidizes and degrades 99.9% viruses and harmful chemicals. The whole process is fast and without any harmful residues.
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • Assembly occupancies like libraries, elderly centers and schools have high risks of infectious diseases spreading. Hence, we would like to conduct the trial in these places to deploy a more efficient and intensive disinfection technique for sterilizing air in order to inactivate/kill viruses like the COVID-19.
  • The trial aims to verify whether product can be implemented in real application scenarios. Indeed, it is more important to effectively collect comments from users. Besides, we want to verify product’s compatibility, for instance, loading, energy supply and charging equipment, sensory equipment for navigation and guidance control etc.
  • A set of IOT sensors will be installed in a target room to monitor IAQ parameters. The cloud-enable system will analyze the captured data and assign an IAQ grading for the room every four hours. Then system gives commands to the robot for conducting disinfection according to the grading.
  • The robot usually operates automatically with a regular pattern at a specific time. An optimal operational model for such robot can be gained in order to effectively sterilize air after a certain period of data analytics. Besides, operator can manually control the robot for conducting intensive disinfection when needed.
  • To effectively evaluate the performance of the product, the air quality and bacteria level before and after the AOW Sanitizing Robot adoption will be measured. The following proposed performance tests are included: -Air Quality Analysis with microbial testing -Surface Disinfection Testing by Swab Test
