  • Customs officers need to walk around the cargo terminal to select target cargoes for examination during daily operation.
  • By using the Smart Porter, it could assist officers to carry heavy objects (like cargo, parcel or examination tools) and
  • to automatically follow officers walking around the terminal for cargo selection.
  • The Smart Porter should be able to perform agile movement as the working environment in Cargo Terminal is full of obstacles.
  • To help lifting and conveying heavy objects during the course of Customs cargo clearance within Cargo Terminal.
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • Follow Me: The robot can follow the person to a designated location and maintain a safe distance of 1-1.5 meters.
  • Docking: FOBO can auto docking with manual instruction “button trigger”. Allow fine adjust of space to docking platform.
  • SLAM technology: Simultaneous localization and mapping, and incremental construction of 2D environment maps.
  • The robot can withstand people interference when someone pass between, it can keep and reach the target destination.
  • The navigation system use 2D and 360 detection to achieve path planning and avoid collision in an unstructured environment
