Solution Feature
  • Apply the trained LiDAR object detection model for human detection
  • Use of 3D point cloud data and display the human location on the floor plan of the lift lobbies in real time.
  • Calculate the density from the number of people and the size of the specific areas. The software and hardware will be configured to detect the number of people in the specified areas in the lobbies.
  • Upload the density data to the cloud database.
  • The system will also connect with the remote monitoring system through the network to retrieve the live data of the lifts. E.g. running direction, load status.
Trial Application and Expected Outcome
  • LiDARs are to be installed and tested in the lift lobbies at EMSD HQs.
  • Suppose the remote monitoring system (provided by others) can be accessed through the internet. Otherwise, the web and database servers are to be installed in the intranet for data exchange.
  • The project will deliver the web user interface with lobbies layout and dashboard for showing the density estimation and data retrieved from the external system.
