Smart Washroom Solution using LORAWAN for greater productivity and cleanliness
(REF: S-0754) |
Trial Project |
|
Solution Feature |
- We have a LORAWAN-based Smart Washroom Solution that helps customers manage the hygiene, maintenance, utilization and operations of washroom facilities in any building type. Real time data is aggregated for the purpose of setting demand-based thresholds to dispatch cleaning staff to maintain washrooms according to cleanliness parameters.
- Occupancy Sensors: our wireless occupancy sensor is PIR-based motion detectors installed on the ceiling, which can detect slight movement within a cubicle. The sensor is battery operated, it was designed to last 1 year, it depends on frequency of usage and how fast for data updating.
- Occupancy Sensors: the sensitive PIR sensor integrates low power consumption via our global LORA communication gateway with secure TCP network stack. This increases the portability and security of data transmission while reducing energy consumption.
- Wetness Sensors: our device uses long-wave infrared (LWIR) thermal imaging sensor based on machine learning algorithm to detect wet areas. The integration of LORA module increases the portability of data transmission and supports remote update ability.
- Wetness Sensors: by using thermal imaging, we are able to effectively detect wet areas without any camera based visuals. Thermal imaging sensors also mean that wet areas are detected without the use of traditional water leakage sensors which are usually ugly and visible.

Trial Application and Expected Outcome |
- We can deploy the sensors and gateways in washrooms and toilet cubicles quickly due to its fast deployment infrastructure. Once the sensors are connected to the cloud and real-time insights are collected, the customer will have a dashboard to monitor occupancy, wetness and other key washroom hygiene parameters.
- Our LORA gateway comes with its own 4G sim card. This means that our solution does NOT require any laying of internet lines to the washrooms in order for the sensor data to reach our cloud. This reduces the installation costs, time and complexity.
- The dashboard comes with the ability to set thresholds for alerts and worker dispatch. For example, if a water puddle is detected that meets or exceeds the allowable “wetness”, an alert will be sent to the facility manager who will dispatch a cleaner to rectify the issue.
- Our dashboard also comes with trending, reports and analytics to help facility managers improve the productivity of its cleaners and maintain the overall environment of its washrooms. If required, we can even send alerts to mobile phones or to smart watches for more effective worker dispatch.
- We have other smart washroom sensors such as paper roll dispensing, soap dispensing, fall detection, odour sensing, etc which can contribute to smarter washroom management. By applying these wireless sensors into washrooms, user complaints will decrease dramatically, and cleaner productivity will increase to meet the demand.
