Summary and Challenges The purpose of this project is to enhance the health and safety monitoring of escalators. By applying artificial intelligence in examining operating sound pattern, the system shall be able to achieve fault prognosis. The developed system shall also be able to detect foreign objects leaving on the step or landing floor plate of an escalator. Maintenance staff can receive alert messages generated by the system for carrying out predictive maintenance.
Expected Outcome This project is to develop an AI-based system for conducting health monitoring and fault prediction of escalators by operating sound analytic.
