(REF : W-0225)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges At least 600 nos of specimen are transferred between 120 clinics and laboratories via 14 nos. of delivery van every day. A tracking system is sought for systematic monitoring of specimen delivery to achieve zero misdelivery and missed-out cases, thereby enhancing patient experience.

We are seeking a solution that can
  • track the location and delivery status of specimen, preferably continuously in real time, such that when specimen is mis-delivered or missed out, alert would be sent to delivery staff;
  • scan multiple specimen that are stack together inside a portable freezer. (Note : Specimen may be stored inside different forms of containers, including test tube, plastic bags, etc.  Specimen would be both in liquid and solid form)
  • interface with different encoding modes, including but not limited to bar code, QR code, etc. for integrating with specific encoding modes currently used inside different clinic / laboratory;
  • allow users to acknowledge receipt and delivery;
  • suitable for installation onto delivery vans;
  • be cost effective for tracking and handling 600 nos of specimen each day.
Expected Outcome
  • A solution that could track specimen location in real time.
  • The solution shall come in two versions. One version for fixed installation on a delivery van, one portable version for quick deployment on any delivery van.
  • Trial run of the solution and recommendation on enhancing delivery workflow.
Expected Trial Duration 12 months
