Summary and Challenges Viruses could be transported from place to place through our daily contact of different objects.  Apart from handwashing, the deployment of self-disinfecting surfaces on frequently pushed/pulled door handles could also help to prevent the spread of viruses through contact with contaminated objects.
Expected Outcome Development of material or coating that possesses self-disinfecting functions or properties, to be used for door handles.
