This project aims at the design and development of a system for managing and monitoring the condition of the operational equipment used in facility. Technology such as Wi-Fi, low energy Bluetooth or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) should be implemented to provide regular monitoring of asset.
The system shall be able to provide real-time monitoring of the existence of the asset, and be able to record every transfer of asset to and from the tailor-made cabinet, and there should be an adequate alarm when there are abnormalities.
Moreover, the system shall also consist of a portable device, the device shall be able to scan the asset management tag for locating the missing asset.
Expected Outcome
To provide a cabinet which can provide monitoring functions and to store the asset securely.
To record every transfer of asset to and from the cabinet.
To monitor the existence of the asset inside the cabinet in a regular period.
To show alarm if the status of the asset are abnormal, e.g. the asset cannot be detected for a continuous period of time.
To provide a portable device to facilitate inventory checking as well as detective device for security searching.
