Monitoring the Utilization Rate of Outdoor Facilities in Country Parks (REF: W-0287)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
The utilization rate of outdoor facilities in country parks (such as BBQ stoves, benches and gazebos) are useful data for smart country park management system and potential sharing to the public. We are searching for innovative I&T solution which could achieve occupancy detection in the above facilities. This project aims to seek non-video analytic technology for people counting and facility usage status collection.
Expected Outcome
The solution is preferred to adopt LPWAN technologies (i.e. LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT) in the resulting transmission.
The solutions for various types of occupancy detection shall be non-video based and could be based on multiple detection technologies.
The sensing devices should be of battery powered or with built-in solar panel.
The sensing devices must be designed for outdoor use.
The sensing devices shall identify the difference between humans, animals or objects.
The mounting of sensing devices should be designed with sufficient protection to ensure the physical security and avoid the devices being tampered.
The mounting of sensing devices are preferred to be well-hidden to avoid affecting the scenery of country park environment.
The solution shall be able to analysis the sensor data and provide the occupancy results with high accuracy.
The solution shall support web-based dashboard for management and also support interfacing with 3rd party platforms/systems for data sharing.
Expected Trial Duration
9-month duration
