Summary and Challenges This project aims to develop a comprehensive intelligent robots or robotic system for delivering heavy and large volume objects to designated locations within government facilities, thereby reducing the need of manual labour in daily operation, enhancing the human resources allocation, operational efficiency and occupational safety & health.
Expected Outcome

The purpose of this project is to design delivery robot with following feature:

  • able to deliver different kinds of object, such as:
    • Rations
    • Industrial raw materials and finished products
    • Meal
    • clothing items
    • Trash
  • able to attach with various types of containers for delivering captioned items
  • provide fully automated mode. The robots shall able to deliver captioned items based on preset routes and schedules, as well as ad-hoc instructions.
  • provide semi-automated mode. The robots shall able to follow the user, who is carrying a navigation tools, for delivering the captioned items.
  • provide system log and delivery record, and store in the system for management purpose
  • equip with on-board sensors for anti-drop and obstacles avoidance, and stop automatically in case of blockage of the passage.
  • deploy to indoor and outdoor environment.
