The project aims to assist InvestHK in its web search for potential foreign investors who may be interested in setting up new companies or expanding their businesses in Hong Kong.

Currently, the staff of InvestHK conduct their search manually which takes much time. Automated machine search will definitely improve the efficiency and effectiveness in preparing the target investors list.

We would like to develop a system using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics to search for foreign investors. Certain business criteria will be set out for the search, e.g. their business potential, intention or interest to invest or expand in Hong Kong. The search should cover various sources and platforms, e.g. news websites, social media websites, company websites, government's open data, top 500 companies, trade show and expo websites, recruitment websites for analysis in order to identify potential foreign investors for Hong Kong.

The AI system should compile a list of potential foreign investors who may be interested in investing or expanding their businesses in Hong Kong. The list should include relevant contact information, including names of persons in charge, office/postal addresses, telephone numbers, country of origin. The system should also provide analysis of their potential of investment or business expansion in Hong Kong.

With AI capability, the system will continue its own machine learning to refine and improve its search performance.
