Summary and Challenges Recently, it is observed that there is an increase in number of water leakage incidents resulting in damage of adjacent utilities such as underground electrical cables and gas pipes which caused impact on electricity and gas supply to public. It is our wish to apply appropriate I&T solutions to enhance the detection and monitoring of water pipes leaks. The aim of this project is to develop an online monitoring system to continuously monitor the condition of water pipes so that any water pipes leakage can immediately be located, reported and handled to reduce the potential impacts to public as well as to other underground utility service in vicinity.
