Summary and Challenges Through 5G smart glasses / helmet processing big data transmission (for example: BIM model), the usage of mixed reality (MR) and augmented reality (AR) technology effectively assists in the tasks of maintenance and repair. The operators can directly identify the equipment in the ceiling void and improve work efficiency. It can also support the team with (AR) technology and two-way video communication functions to provide operators with accurate guidance and real-time assistance. The 5G smart glasses / helmet solution also supports browsing of stored files and pictures to facilitate operators to complete maintenance tasks.
Expected Outcome Apply 5G technology to enhance the stability of the smart glasses / helmet system and reduce latency. Through the real-time video communication function and the smart glasses / helmet solution integrated with BIM-MR&AR, real-time two-way video communication can eliminate misunderstandings. In addition to speeding up fault diagnosis, it can still improve service reliability with limited resources.
