Summary and Challenges

The objective of the project is to develop an automatic assessment tool to evaluate building performance based on operational data. The scope of project is summarised as follows.

  1. The tool should be able to analyse the building operational data and evaluate the performance of E&M systems.
  2. Standard performance curves of major E&M equipment and weather data from HKO should be collected for E&M system analysis.
  3. User interface design should accommodate web-based and mobile apps for operators to input the operational data.
  4. An AI model should be developed using big data analysis to learn (i) the building/system operational pattern, and (ii) the correlation between variables in order to achieve predictive model for optimisation control and predictive maintenance.
  5. The tool should be able to generate recommendations on necessary system tuning, reset or rectification.
All the tool or model should be in open and standardised protocol.
Expected Outcome To develop a tool which can automatically evaluate the building performance based on the operational data analysis of E&M systems and generate optimal measures to operators.
Expected Trial Duration 18 months
