Summary and Challenges
Adoption of the nanofiber-based filtration technology in AHU system with a view to enhance energy conservation;
Single-stage nanofiber-based filtration technology will be evaluated in this trial at a designated premises and further determine whether the technology is applicable in Hong Kong;
The trial shall include all associated measurement instruments and retrofit works from this trial, and include an assessment to compare the energy saving potential with prevailing solutions; and
The single-stage nanofiber-based filtration technology shall attain the following features: I. Minimum filtration efficiency shall not less than MERV 12 by ANSI/ASHRAE 52.2-2012 or equivalent; II. Initial resistance not exceeding 100 Pa at 2.5m/s face velocity; and III. Fire property shall comply with applicable standards (e.g. BS 476-4:1970 or equivalent).
